The question should be asked is when is it that you get old. Of course this is based on how old the person asking the question is. If you ask a 3 year old then they think anyone over 20 is ANCIENT, but as you get older the number seems to move out.

How often have we heard that 40 is the new 30 or that 50 is the new 40? Who promulgates this and how is oldness defined. What constitutes being old? We have often heard that someone is “so young for their age”. Does this mean they are mentally astute, physically fit or have a good outlook on life? Conversely the opposite also applies as people prematurely age due to life circumstances and their lack of tools to help deal with their environment, condition or current state.

So do we define getting old ourselves or do we let others define it for us?
